Get to Know Noordhoek
It may be right beside the ocean, with an incredible beach to prove it, but Noordhoek has a distinctly country feel to it.
Noordhoek is a suburb of Cape Town, lying some 35 kilometres from the city centre. Despite this fact, it feels like a holiday town. With Chapman’s Peak towering over it, travellers get to take what is arguably Cape Town’s most scenic route, Chapman’s Peak Drive, to get there. The alternative is, of course, Ou Kaapseweg, which slices through the beautiful Silvermine Nature Reserve as it winds over the mountain.
The town itself has many large homes and smallholdings with paddocks and a big population of horses that add to the country atmosphere. Horseriding along the endless stretch of soft, white sand that is Noordhoek’s main beach is one of the top activities here.
