The herds continue to move south
Hi Carel
Here's an aerial image I took of a Mara River crossing near Kogatende last week. The herds have continued to move south at the moment.

Large herd around Sasakwa / Singita Grumeti Reserves
Hi Carel,
There is a large herd around Sasakwa / Singita Grumeti Reserves with more heading south from Kogatende to join them. Lots of widespread herds around the Serena Seronera hotel area as well.
There are scattered herds arriving from the Mara Triangle.

Jarrod

Big herd on the north side of the Mara River
Hi Carel,
There's a very big herd on the north side of the river about 8km north west of Kogatende airstrip. Maybe around 300 000 to 400 000.
Two small groups were moving towards Kogatende from the western corridor passing about 25km east of Sasakwa.
Cheers,
Jarrod

Large herds moving from Lobo towards Kogatende
Hi Carel,
Sorry about the late update. Saw several large herds yesterday morning moving from Lobo towards Kogatende. Most likely they will be arriving around Koga today. Looks like plenty more crossings to come.
Cheers,
Jarrod

Grumeti River crossings happening both ways
300,000 or so wildebeest at the Grumeti airstrip western corridor with grass getting dry and depleted. Grumeti River crossings happening both ways.
The herds are heading north as we speak towards the Mara River. A good few weeks ahead for crossings and a good August expected.
