Day 1 - Durban - St Lucia - Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park
Its 08:30 and you’re leaving Durban to meet up with your guide and venture into Veyane Cultural Village where you will be able to experience the Zulu way of life. Watch traditional Zulu dancing, before taking a hands-on approach to bead making, mat weaving and the playing of local instruments. After your dose of cultural enlightenment, you head off to St Lucia where you will enjoy a tranquil boat cruise on the St Lucia Estuary. This World Heritage Site offers the opportunity to spot hippos and crocodiles, African fish eagles and other birds. After the boat cruise, you are introduced to the hotel where your overnight stay will revitalise you for the wildlife exploration tomorrow holds.
Overnight at Umkhumbi Lodge (Twin room) or similar/alternative hotel.

Day 2 - Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park
Today is all about nature and wildlife as you’re plunged into the heart of Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. A day packed with game viewing awaits you, experienced from the safety of an open safari vehicle. The park is famous for its rhino conservation and mighty ‘Big Five’ that roam its plains, alongside zebra, giraffe, cheetah and wild dog.
Depart early morning on a game drive when the animals are most visible and active. A visit to the reserve’s renowned Centenary Centre and Museum is to follow. Here you will be informed on the history of live game capture and translocation of game, in particular, the white rhino that would no doubt be extinct if it weren’t for the creation of the reserve. With a bit of luck, the capture bomas (enclosures) may provide opportunity for a close-up encounter with an wild animal or two.

Day 3 - Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park - Durban
Rise early for a final morning game drive geared to bid your experience of the unique and wonderful Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park goodbye. Return to your lodge to check out and take the transfer shuttle back to Durban, where you will arrive back in the city at approximately 16h00.
