Self Drive Tour: Kruger & Kwa Zulu Natal

Day 1 - Johannesburg
Start your journey arriving in Johannesburg and picking up your rental vehicle. Delve into the rich culture of the region with a colourful city tour of Soweto. If you crave a taste of the area's history, a visit to the Apartheids Museum tracks South Africa’s political journey through time and offers enlightenment into the ideologies and culture of South African society.
For a more vibrant Johannesburg excursion, head over to Gold Reef City entertainment complex and experience the thrill of the theme park, casino... or both!
Overnight at Premier Hotel Pretoria (Deluxe Room) or similar/alternative hotel.

Day 2 - Pretoria - Ohrigstad
After checking out of Premier Hotel Pretoria, set off to Ohrigstad. Along the way, why not stop off at the Cullinan Diamond Mine, where the world’s largest diamond was discovered.
Upon arriving at your accommodation, check in and hop on an optional game drive to experience the area’s nature and abundant wildlife population, that a game viewing safari has to offer.

Day 3-4 - Ohrigstad - Hazyview
Day three and four welcomes an exploration along the Panorama Route. This scenic stretch of Africa is home to Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window and Pilgrims Rest. This is the perfect opportunity to stop by these attractions and revel in their natural and historic beauty.
Over the next two days, your evenings' accommodation offers a variety of optional activities geared to make sure you get the most out of your stay. A few of these options include a horseback ride through the scenic valleys and forests of the Sandford Conservancy and a visit to nearby attractions like Kruger National Park, where you can see the Big 5 on an animal tracking game drive! What about a visit to the Sudwala Caves, Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre, a round of golf, or a landscape viewing experience from the basket of a hot air balloon? Revel in choice.

Day 5 - Hazyview - Swaziland
Today the journey continues once more moving on from Hazyview to Swaziland. A visit to the Ngwenya Glass Factory comes highly recommended, offering an incredible bird’s eye view of the factory. The factory produces the most amazing glass designs that are sure to leave you in awe.
Swaziland is a destination booming with grand mountains and far stretching grassland landscapes. Take advantage of the fresh evening air and beautiful blanket of stars that fill the sky in the evening with a nighttime session of star gazing next to the sparkling water of the pool in Foresters Arms Inn’s landscaped garden.

Day 6-7 - Swaziland
Today, the discovery of nature’s gems continues. Head from Swaziland to Hluhluwe where you have the opportunity to seek out wildlife and birdlife on game viewing activities in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. Further options offer the experience of the National Heritage Site of St Lucia Wetlands with a relaxing cruise down its waterway.
Hluhluwe is the ancestral land of the Zulu nation. While in the area, a visit to a Zulu cultural village will showcase an authentic experience of the Zulu culture, steeped in tribal folklore and ancestral tradition.

Day 8-9 - Durban
Leaving Hluhluwe, the road takes you to the seaside city of Durban. How about embarking on a Durban city tour, for a trip that introduces you to the vibrant city culture and its people?
Situated on Durban’s ‘Golden Mile’, uShaka Marine World is an attraction which is well worth a visit. As Africa's largest marine theme park, the attraction offers unparalleled entertainment, excitement, fun and uniqueness.

Day 10 - Durban
