The Kagga Kamma Game Reserve is home to a scattering of ancient bushman living sites. On this tour you’ll get the opportunity to be led by expert rangers through this stretch of unspoiled wilderness, on both a walking and quad bike safari.
A rock art tour sees your guide interpret the Bushmen paintings, some of which are more than 6 000 years old, as the history of a fascinating culture unravels.
After lunch the journey continues on an exhilarating quad bike safari through otherwise inaccessible parts of the reserve. A great chance to take in the essence of this spiritual land with its spectacular scenery, majestic mountains and strange rock formations.

Best Time To Do It
This tour can be enjoyed all year round. The Cederberg has a cool Mediterranean climate with hot sunny days throughout summer and mild and often sunny days in winter, with occasional rainfall.

It'll take you approximately 3 hours to arrive, travelling from Cape Town. Take the N1 North, at Worcester turn off to Ceres. In Ceres follow the directions to P.A. Hamlet and Citrusdal. After passing through P.A. Hamlet and Gydo pass, turn right at "Kagga Kamma" sign just after the small town called "Op-die-Berg". Turn right at the next "Kagga Kamma" sign after about 18km. From here it is good gravel road. Turn left at "Kagga Kamma" sign after 19km. You will arrive at the entrance gate of Kagga Kamma after 15km.

Getting Around
The first half of this tour is a walking safari. The second half of this tour, you will be riding a quad bike around the game reserve.

Pick-up and drop-off can be arranged from Cape Town's major hotels or airport, however the transfer is 3.5 hours. Therefore the tour would need to be scheduled for the following day. Accommodation is available at Kagga Kamma Private Game Reserve.
