Harare

Why Visit Harare?

The capital city of Zimbabwe, Harare offers a fascinating blend of history, culture and scenery. The town is home to a number of attractions, including the National Herbarium and Botanic Gardens, Mukuvisi Woodlands, Lake Kariba, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe and Queen Victoria Museum.

  • Harare Overview

With plenty of teething troubles during Zimbabwe’s past decade or so, Harare is nonetheless a rewarding destination for those who are exploring the country. The city’s British colonial days are evident in its elegant restaurants, blend of architecture and influences, while still retaining its quintessential ‘real Africa’ feel.

The warmth and friendliness of Zimbabwean locals ensures that visitors are welcomed with open arms. From local farmers to the city’s earliest inhabitants, Zimbabweans have not let the country’s turmoil stop them from enjoying life. While prices in Harare shops may be on the crazy side, a number of local artefacts, craft markets and workshops can be found alongside more commercial modern shops, ensuring a great variety of goods – however expensive they may be.
