Why Visit Bulawayo?
The second largest city in Zimbabwe, after the capital Harare, Bulawayo is a relaxed city with a lot to offer. Some of the attractions you can enjoy in the city include Amakhosi Theatre Company, the National Art Gallery and Natural History Museum. Matobo National Park and Khami ruins are also within close distance to Bulawayo.

Bulawayo Overview
With a somewhat shabby old-world feel, Bulawayo is a laid-back city in the heart of Zimbabwe. The city is close to a number of Zimbabwe’s top tourist attractions, not least including Matobo National Park, where the grave of Cecil John Rhodes can be found. Khami ruins is also within close distance, as is that Chimpangali Wildlife Orphanage, where a range of wildlife can be seen.
Within Bulawayo itself, a number of cultural attractions can be found, with a large museum and art gallery, plus a theatre company that produces local entertainment.
The town is also home to a number of shops, restaurants and other facilities. Despite the crashed economy and recent struggles in Zimbabwe, Bulawayo still offers and excellent stop on any Africa tour through to Victoria Falls.

The National Art Gallery situated in a beautiful hundred-year-old colonial building, has temporary and permanent exhibitions of contemporary Zimbabwean sculptures and paintings.
The Bulawayo Club was founded in 1895 and remains an extraordinary piece of Zimbabwe’s history.

Average temperature ranges in Harare (Salisbury) are from 7°C to 21°C (45°F to 70°F) in June/ July, and from 16 to 27°C in December.
When to Go
Bulawayo has wet, hot summers, particularly during December and January, with frequent thunderstorms. Winters are mild and dry, offering good conditions for exploring the outdoor attractions.
Getting There & Getting Around
Getting To Bulawayo
As a large city, Bulawayo has an international airport that is clean, even if a bit old. Self-drive is one way to get into the city, with varying road conditions. Buses can also be taken from elsewhere in Zimbabwe, or from Johannesburg.
Getting Around Bulawayo
You can easily walk around the town of Bulawayo itself, but if you plan to explore the surrounding attractions you will need a car, preferably with four wheel drive.

With a failed economy, Zimbabwe banking is not an easy topic. There are a few banks within the city, but exchanging funds may not be an easy task. Also be aware that prices are extremely inflated throughout the country.Credit/Debit cards:
