While the Stanley and Livingstone Victoria Falls may be one of the older hotels in this region, it makes up for its age with old-world elegance and excellent service. From the balcony of rooms within the hotel, wildlife such as buffalo and baboon can be seen roaming below, adding to the atmosphere. Beautiful décor and close proximity to Victoria Falls add the final touch.
The hotel is also perfectly positioned to allow guests to visit the Falls on the Zimbabwe side, which are situated 10 minutes away from the hotel. It is best to drive to the Falls, as it is not quite close enough to walk. A safari through the Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve is also highly recommended, along with a trip to the larger Zambezi National Park.
Secluded and set on a large expanse of lush sub-tropical gardens, the Stanley and Livingstone is an ideal destination for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busier tourist areas in Zimbabwe. Situated within the Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve, the Stanley and Livingstone hotel offers excellent game viewing, with close proximity to the World Heritage Site of Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side. The reserve borders the larger Zambezi National Park, which is where a number of large game species can be seen, including the largest number of free-roaming elephant and buffalo herds in the world.
