Tau Pan
Birding is excellent and after the summer rains the park takes on a different look – the sky fill with clouds, and plains burst with sweet grasses, making this one of the best game viewing areas for the time of year, as migrants appear. This also attracts the attendant predators, such as lion, cheetah leopard, hyena and jackal. The dry season is also a wonderful time to visit and brings its own unique beauty.
Location
Tau Pan is in the middle of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, and is set on the edge of the beautiful Tau (Lion) Pan. The Kalahari Desert stretches some 2 500 kilometres from the northern regions of South Africa through to Namibia and Angola. Vast stretches of nothingness will ensure a clear mind and a perfect getaway.
