Set on a large expanse of indigenous gardens amidst the Amakhala Game Reserve, Leeuwenbosch Country House is a stately country manor offering the chance to relax and enjoy the many attractions of the malaria-free Eastern Cape Province. Built in 1908, the country house is beautifully decorated in soft hues, luxurious touches and furniture dating back as far as 1800s. Five spacious en-suite bedrooms are offered, along with a host of highlights such as the small library that houses a collection of documents and artefacts from the manor’s early days, a small chapel, stone-walled cellar bar, dining room and shady veranda.
Leeuwenbosch Country House has been owned and run by the Fowlds family for five generations, ensuring a high level of service and quality for guests seeking a luxurious ‘home from home’ on a safari, romantic break, family holiday or much-needed getaway within the Eastern Cape.

Leeuwenbosch Country House is situated on the Amakhala Game Reserve, which lies near Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. This sleepy town is famous for its annual Arts Festival, which runs between June and July. The reserve itself is home to a diversity of wildlife and bird species, with game drives and bush walks offered each day.
