There are few experiences as amazing as the opportunity to sit back on a peaceful veranda in the middle of African wilderness, while being served tea as a herd of elephant meander into view.
The camp nestled in a stunning location which has been visited for many different reasons for over 250 000 years. From the Early Stone Age to the Middle and then to Later Stone Age. The indigenous tribes had many uses for the water in the area, which was eventually labelled ‘de Goras’. The natural spring gave the land a sense of place, mystery and spiritual presence. Eventually, colonial settlers moved to the area, altering the landscape, and with it, the history.
Location
Situated in the middle of Addo National Park in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, Gorah is the only private concession in the area and is home to the densest population of elephants on earth. Located in a malaria-free zone makes this one of the best places in Africa to see the Big 5.
